Valentine's

It must be February already. I'm afraid we blinked...too slowly! :) January is gone and December just a distant memory. And so starts a new Challenge from Craft Rocket Challenges!

It is Challenge #8 and for Valentine/Love. Here is my Design Team card listed on the blog. Come and join us!

I am working on using scraps, bits and pieces this year and this was the result. The card stock is my home made paper with a touch of red dye in the pulp to get the pink color. The embossing is from a Darice folder.

50 Years

How do 50 years pass by us so quickly? We have close friends that are celebrating their 50 year wedding anniversary this year. I am making cards early, for a change, and this will be saved for them.

I made it using saved scraps and shapes. The sentiment was created using VersaMark stamp pad and Recollections Gold embossing powder. The 50 was stamped with Sizzlits Nouveau.

The card stock is a darker sheet of natural color hand made paper.

This is my Design Team card for the February Unicorn Challenges blog. The theme is Lot's of Love - Valentines/Anniversary creations. Join us for the fun!

Blog Hop

'I haven't taken part in any challenges lately so am ready to jump back in. Mark's Finest Papers had a blog hop centered on the beach and it ends today. The challenge is to post a 'beachy' card using the tutorials provided.

This is my card. I used white home made paper for the card stock and embossed it with a Darice folder. The lighthouse scene was printed on regular card stock and I used Distressed inks to give it some color before fussy cutting it out.

The background was made on watercolor paper and the Ranger inks with a little watercolor help gave it the finished look. I used Stickles to bring out the waves, but it doesn't show in this picture.

The stamp set is MFP Lighthouse 2012 for the scene and sentiment.

Of course, this beach scene makes me think more of the New England area so I may have to work on another card to bring out the beautiful weather FL is experiencing right now!

Clean and Simple (CAS)

Today on Craft Rocket Challenges, we start a new challenge. It is for CAS anything. Here is my contribution for the design team. Please visit the site and join in our challenge!

This was done using a simple brush stroke with 2 different water colors and after stamping on the flower, I used watercolor to bring out the flower colors. Add the sympathy stamp and it is perfect and clean. I used my home made paper stock for the main card. This paper was made from recycled sewing pattern paper. It's a pain to sit and cut into little pieces, but the resulting paper is lovely.

Happy Anything

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! That's the fastest way I know to get through the holidays.

Soo, it's January 2016 and I am now a member of the Craft Rocket Challenges design team. Here is my first card for the challenge starting on Thursday, January 7. The theme is for Happy Anything and will run for 2 weeks. Visit the site using the link above.

I created this card using watercolor paper for the medium, watercolors for the coloring and the wheat stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. As always, my homemade paper is the card stock.

I will enter this in the following challenge:
