Flower Abuse :-)

There is a new tutorial on Mark's Finest Papers (http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/page/tutorial-time-on-speedy-tv-challenge-108) called Flower Pounding. I was skeptical when I read how to do it, but one session and I had beautiful success. There is a Challenge # 108 for Tutorial Time that I plan to enter this card in.

I love the way the colors of the flower actually transfer on to the paper. For my card I used a passion flower, Bee Balm flower and Sun Lady flowers for the yellow. The results are so pretty! I will definitely be trying this again.

Safe Travels!

This week's color Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers (http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/page/scrapbook-challenge) is blue, blue and blues. My blues don't show as blue as they really are in the picture but the only thing not blue is the lace to mimic the ocean waves.

The stamp is from Inkadinkado Clear Stamps collection.

I wish everyone Safe Travels this summer!

I will also be entering this card in Word Art Wednesday http://wordartwednesday.blogspot.com/. It is a sweet, Christian site and the Challenge this week is for Anything Goes. Hard to pass up :)

Ferns and Flowers

I am trying my hand at an oriental challenge by Mark's Finest Papers (http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/page/oriental-sketch-challenge-44). I love the stamp set that will be the prize so although I'm not much adept at oriental themes, I've played around with the suggested sketch using different colors of green and fresh, dried ferns for the accents. I think in the future I will look for colors that offset the background better. The stamped flower is from MFP as well as the Happy Birthday. And, as always, the card stock is my own paper!

Teen Birthday!

We have a grandson that will be 15 this month. We saw him and his sister 2 weeks ago and always enjoy those special times with those 2. I plan on posting this card on the Mark's Finest Papers (http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com) site for the Inspiration Challenge #69. The inspiration is ladders and this is what I came up with. Hmm, good thing Brandon doesn't read this post, right? :-D

Ahh, a winter skating rink!

I'm joining Speedy Fox Challenge #218 from Mark's Finest Paper (http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com) that is supposed to incorporate mesh. My only problem was getting it glued to my paper. I used some spray adhesive on the mesh to add some sparkle. It's hard to resist these little penguins enjoying some fun and it made me think "cool" thoughts during all this Florida heat!

There is another challenge I will post this card on...the Tuesday Throwdown (http://tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.com) site. Since I have been gone for 2 weeks, I hope to make up for some lost card time:)
