Plenty of Blue

Well, I believe I will be participating in an Art Festival in November. It's a long way off, but makes me realize how inadequate my supply of cards is.

Here is one I made to fill the challenges for 5 different sights. Requirements called for were use die cuts, something blue, butterflies and anything goes. Fun, right? From what I can tell, I got it all on one card. :)

All the features on this card are created with die cuts and it is on my blue card stock. I took this picture with a camera, outside, in the bright sun and finally, you can see the colors!

Birds of a Feather

What a fun vacation we had with our 14 and soon to be 16 year old grandkids from Knoxville! Also saw 2 grandsons graduate from HS. Time sure is flying by...and on that segway, here is my card for the Mark's Finest Papers Blog Challenge #264. And I will enter it at Word Art Wednesday.

The card stock is a lighter blue of my homemade paper. The blue color came from used, crumpled, dark blue tissue paper and contains seeds. Most of my papers can be planted to produce something green :)

Creative Thinking

I've got one of the sweetest hubbies ever. He never fails to do sweet things for me whether it's a special occasion or an ordinary day.

One of the fun things we do is to pull old cards from a folder I keep, to reuse previously seen cards. But this year, he decided to be 'crafty!' He snuck into my homemade paper stash and created this wonderful card for me :)

The inside reads: To a super Mom and lovely Wife - Blessings, Bob (and when I read it he said "See? I can make cards too!" Too funny! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Birthday with an Angle

I'm a little late getting this card finished but I was inspired by the challenge at Mark's Finest Papers to create a card using strips of paper at angles.

I am trying to work with new stamps and paper I've never touched so this was satisfying to make.

I love the way the strips cross each other. I'll send this to my sister, Connie, for her birthday next week.

Color Challenge

I found a new site to watch for ideas with a vintage look. I don't own many stamps with vintage looks but I have a large stash of old unidentified photos from the early 1900's and I used one on my card here.

The Outlawz Color Challenge this week is calling for rose pink, fresh green and creamy peach with a twist for mothers or a good friend. I chose the friend since my mother's day card is already done.
