A friend taught me how to make paper. With the paper I joined a group to learn to produce cards. I will share cards I make and if I become really good :) I will share techniques and tips.

Circles too
Here is another card for the mfp Speedy Fox and Friends "Sponged Circles" challenge. I tried to use different colors and sizes of circles. I'm still a big fan of the warm colors but I am happy with how this turned out.
I used the Java Time 2014 stamp set. It's so exciting to have a host of new stamps to play with!
It's disappointing that my pretty blue card stock is showing up as white. I think it's time to google the best way to take pictures to be able to show the colors better!
Circles
With all the new ideas for making your own background, I may never have to buy designer paper again! The challenge this week in Speedy Fox and Friends is to create a background using Sponged Circles. This can lend itself to so many themes by just changing the colors and circle sizes.
And by reading the blogs from the Design Team, I decided to pre-cut my circles from a piece of acrylic. It was super easy after that to sponge them neatly on the card stock. (Thank you Lis!)
The DT did a great job with their cards. Be sure to see their cards by clicking on the link above.
This card is made using an owl stamp from the Halloween Selection 2012 that I received this year and the saying is from the Take Time 2013 set.

Diamond Fold Technique
How fun is it to learn a new technique and have it turn out good the first try? WooHoo!
The Diamond Fold seems a little tricky until you make one and then you get the Ah-Ha moment. The tutorial from Mark's Finest Papers is here.
I'm sure no one will be surprised that I'm putting this in the mfp FOSTV#154 challenge.

Oriental Sketch
I admit, oriental is not the way I go for decorating or usually card making but I recently received some stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers for challenges won in the past and one of them was the Asian Delights 2012 set. (Thank you Cora and Amanda!!)
So I had to enter this week's oriental challenge to use the new stamps! I love the sketches that are offered and this particular one couldn't be any easier to follow.
I am getting to this late in the time frame allowed but since I've only been home one week and 2 days, I feel I'm getting back into the fun.
I will enter this in the mfp Oriental Sketch Challenge #64. These ladies are very pretty and I used the tutorial on the website called Beyond Borders to highlight them. The background card stock is a pretty yellow from my home made stash.

Heart As Flowers
With Valentine's all around us and coming up this Saturday, I decided to use a challenge to get me inspired. This card was time intensive but turned out awfully cute. I'm sending it to my good friends in Tampa, Ashley, Peggy and Mike.
My hope is it springs out at them when the envelope is opened. The hearts are from a small heart punch and I glued them together on florist wire. The 'vase' is made of ribbon doubled over a few times. And the card stock is from my pink, home-made stash.
I know this type of card won't become a mass production type, however, I couldn't resist when I saw Linda's sample card on the Outlawz Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge for this week.
I will also enter this in the WordArtWednesday weekly challenge.
And in case I don't get any more Valentine's cards posted other than this one, Happy Valentine's to all!

Valentine's Day
Well we didn't see it coming but had to make an emergency trip to Texas right after I posted last. Then we drove to Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia to check in all parties involved, and straight down to Florida to catch our breath.
Finally, finally, I get to play again :) And it's just in time for Valentine's Day.
This card will be sent to my mother-in-law. She gets such a kick out of each card we send her.
This was done using the Reverse Resist Challenge as demonstrated on Mark's Finest Papers Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge #248 "Follow This Tutorial." The directions are very easy to follow and although my colors aren't showing up as vibrant as real life, still it turned out pretty and wasn't difficult to do. The flowers used for the resist are from the mfp Asian Delights stamp set.
So, I hope to get back into the swing of things with Challenges and such, and regular postings.
I will also share this with Word Art Wednesday's site!
